Being active in the field for over a decade, she has experience working in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, chemical dependency treatment centers, behavioral clinics, and universities.

In addition to working in private practice, Suhailey teaches graduate level counseling courses at her alma mater, Hunter College, feeling privileged and humbled to play a positive role in shaping future counselors. Her leadership roles in academia and the mental health field require her to stay on top of current therapeutic research and evidence-based practices, constantly refining her own clinical approach and fostering inclusive spaces with empathy and insight.

Being a first generation American and Afro Latina woman, Suhailey recognizes that differences can exist beneficially. She understands the unique stressors that can come with balancing personal identity, family expectations, societal pressures, and mental health. Her approach is rooted in cultural sensitivity, empathy, and deep respect for your lived experiences.
