ASSOCIATE THERAPIST 1 Year Training Program  

BeWELL Psychotherapy is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our training program for Associate Therapists. This program is designed for those who have recently graduated from an accredited Master’s degree program in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work (MHC-LP or LMSW). BeWELL is a boutique group practice and offers a dynamic and forward-thinking place to work.

As an Associate Therapist, you will be responsible for providing therapy services to clients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. During this one-year training program, you will receive extensive weekly training and clinical supervision in various psychotherapy interventions and modalities. This training will give you a unique opportunity to continue learning and growing your clinical skills and immediately incorporate them into clinical practice. 

Candidates for this program are recent graduates, with licensure secured or scheduled.
Interviews take place in the Spring and the program starts the first week of August. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Attend weekly clinical training sessions 
  • Develop treatment plans and interventions based on patient needs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation
  • Attend and actively participate in individual and group supervision sessions
  • Participate in didactic trainings and continuing education courses as required by the program 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work 
  • Eligible to obtain licensure as a therapist in NY or NJ (MHC-LP, LMSW)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the team 
  • Commitment to immersing in the group practice community 

 

BeWELL Graduate Student Internship

BeWELL Psychotherapy is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our internship program. Eligible students include those receiving their degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling. The program is designed for those looking to pursue a career as a therapist. BeWELL Psychotherapy is a holistic mental health practice that offers students a unique look inside the therapy space with exposure to many different modalities and ways of working. 

The internship is twofold: one part private practice therapy experience and one part group therapy experience, running our BeHER teen program in partnering high schools. BeWELL psychotherapy prides itself on the quality work it provides to individuals at the practice and strives to provide community based mental health support to traditionally underserved communities through our BeHER teen program.

As a BeWELL psychotherapy intern you would be provided with individual, small group supervision and practice wide supervision as well as training modalities with articles to accompany your journey throughout the year.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide weekly sessions at the practice 
  • Recruit and run groups at partnering high schools
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation
  • Develop treatment plans and interventions based on patient needs with help of supervisor
  • Attend and actively participate in individual and group supervision sessions
  • Participate in group events at the practice such as training’s, outing’s, etc.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Be in second year of a master’s program for either Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
  • Strong ability to work independently and be a self starter.
  • Ability to receive feedback from supervisors and group members
  • Curiosity about the work and wanting to grow your skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Commitment to being a group member
