Alexis Davis

Intern
She/Her/Hers

My approach to therapy is rooted in my firm belief that the client is the expert on their life and my role is to help guide my client through processing their life experiences and getting ‘unstuck’. I view our sessions as a collaborative effort in which the client brings their individual and unique lived experiences as I help in navigating any limiting beliefs, fears, and difficult emotions. I provide warmth and compassionate listening, meeting my clients emotional needs while offering effective and actionable information and tools.

I have a passion for working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues as well as clients looking to explore their cultural and racial identities. I use a trauma-informed lens coupled with psychodynamic therapy to take a more holistic view of my clients life. Together, we work to identify feelings, patterns and situations that they would like to investigate and how to reframe any negative thinking patterns. My goal is to help my clients embrace the fullness of their identities and live a more joyful and liberated life. I am intentional about ensuring that you feel heard, validated and supported.

Originally from California, I moved to NY for college and now reside in Brooklyn, NY. I received my BA in Psychology from The New School and am currently in a graduate program at Columbia School of Social Work. I look forward to meeting you!
