Isabella Doraney, MSW

Psychotherapist in Training
She/Her/Hers

Isabella is a second-year Master of Social Work student at Columbia University and a psychotherapist in training at BeWELL Psychotherapy.

Isabella approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and an interest in understanding each person’s unique experience. She is particularly passionate about working with adolescents and young adults, as well as supporting adults experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She understands that the challenges people face are often shaped by their experiences and the world around them. Before pursuing social work, Isabella worked as a teacher, creating a foundation for building trusting relationships and helping people feel understood.

Her approach is collaborative and relational. Isabella aims to help clients feel comfortable being themselves, better understand patterns in their thoughts and relationships, and develop practical ways to cope with what they are facing. She draws on her training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and client-centered approaches that prioritize adapting the work to each client’s needs and goals.

Isabella believes therapy should be a space where clients feel heard and supported as they explore what matters to them and find ways forward that feel meaningful to them.
