Frannie Gordon is an associate psychotherapist at BeWELL Psychotherapy and Wellness. She works to provide a warm and inviting space for clients to bring their past and present experiences into the session free of judgment or shame to create space for transformation and healing. Whether you are going through a breakup, experiencing a major move, a new job, a loss of a loved one (human and animals alike), chronic illness, or trying to find purpose in this chaotic world we live in, my goal is to help you become more connected to yourself, the people in your life, and the world around you.
Frannie specializes in self-compassion work, relationships, life transitions, family dynamics, and working through grief and loss. She has a deep understanding of depression and anxiety, emotional regulation, and finding meaning and purpose. Frannie earned a master’s degree in social work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
As a social worker passionate about clinical work, Frannie’s therapeutic approach is strengths-based and grounded in a humanistic/relational perspective, recognizing that every client is the expert in their own experience. She draws upon theories ranging from psychodynamic, attachment, mindfulness, or systems-based techniques to cognitive-behavioral ones. Clients who work with Frannie know that she is committed to recognizing the nuances in treatment and understanding each client’s values, needs, and challenges. She strives to embody a culturally humble, anti-discrimination approach and emphasizes lightness and humor, which can be powerful medicine on their own!
Frannie’s top priority is to establish a relationship with her clients that is built on safety, trust, and honesty. She is dedicated to a collaborative approach, where she can support the client’s innermost hopes and desires while also acknowledging the sources of discomfort and pain they are experiencing. Her goal is to help her clients realize their goals and discover their unique path to deeper fulfillment within themselves and their relationships. She is committed to working at the pace of the client, meeting them wherever they are.
Frannie creates environments that are open, encouraging, and genuine where both parties are vulnerable to learning and growing together to create positive change, while acknowledging that growth is a winding and never-ending path.
